I don’t know what magnetised me so much to this story, but it has really destroyed me a bit recently. I have read a zillion animal cruelty cases, but this one in particular stuck with me, and broke my heart over and over. How could anyone do this to a Dog? The fact it was tied up, then shot, and then left to die. I’m so glad they’ve no found the Person responsible, and I hope to hear that the compassionate Maltese have done the exact same to him.

I probably felt really attached to this story due to the fact that it seemed to be heading for a positive outcome, only for Starr to die. I see such a human spark in Starrs eyes, and I don’t understand how some percentage of the world fails to see that human spark. We as a species are the biggest mistake this earth has ever made. We torture animals and call it ‘sport’, we sellotape kindergarten excuses onto everything we do. I honestly think we as a Species deserve a New Meteor, and we should hand the baton to another species that actually has Respect and Love. I’m incredibly embarrassed to share the same body with these kinds of people, AND with those who laugh about such things because they believe that their friends will find it funny. 

I have often used a comparison to ex-friends of mine who quip back with ‘it’s only a dog’ ‘it’s only a rabbit’ etc. What if it was your son or daughter? And YES, that IS the SAME. I despise people who dissociate from everything except those they know. The same people laugh at Deer being shot and stabbed, but yet cry and moan when they hurt their little ankles after a drunken fall.

This Guy fell whilst he was HUNTING Deer, and he spends the entire programme talking about his little broken legs and ‘how excruciating’ it was. FUCK OFF!
